currently craving: a vacation alone :)
currently, currently: inhaled too much cologne...
you know what i thought of today! the more time i spend by myself, the happier i am! i mean it. i noticed that i allow people to affect me negatively...i know i allow it. i just can't figure out how to stop it. and until i do, spending time alone, with myself, is the happiest remedy. i really had a great day! browsing art catalogues online, sifting through my own work, documenting life, rearranging my room. either i'm pathetic, or i'm happy. i'll choose to say "i'm happy."
i also think that i like being alone in other ways. i can not tell you how much better i feel now that i've allowed myself to be free of relationships with men. either this is a hiatus, or i am actually maturing, its too soon to say. i mean, being able to walk around school, go out at night, day to day activities, without having to wonder if i will meet someone, or if i am presenting myself the right way. maybe it just took me this long to figure out what normal life is like, who knows. what i do know, is that i am going to travel as soon as i graduate, and not having a deadline of going back to school, or a man friend to miss puts me at ease. i like this alone thing. although this isn't entirely accurate, i like this drawing nonetheless :)
i love & spend most of my time online frequenting design blogs from some pretty respected people out there. this site, ISO50, a blog by artist scott hansen provided some GREAT ideas for an artist stuck in a creative rut. this guy interviewed 52 designers around the world, and posted their answers. trust the advice from the best :}
i have found one of my FAVORITE new blogs. music. art. design. music. movies. music. oh man. in need of a new wallpaper? kitsune noir has legit artists designing new ones erry wednesday; its called "The Desktop Wallpaper Project." here, you can find (21 pages so far, i checked) one suitable for any [design-savvy] desktop :) here are a few screenshots of some of my fav's:
ready for some visual slash audio crack? holy #$%!! you have to CHECK THIS OUT!!! the director used over 400 painted blocks, black light, and 4085 photographs in stop-motion to create one of the coolest videos, for one of the coolest sounds i have ever heard. if you're into psycho-electronic music with a beat that will break glass, check out 'nobody beats the drum; grindin.' you will NOT be disappointed. insanity. i can't get over this...
